Land-Dweller
The Land-Dweller is powered by the 7135 calibre. This movement represents the forefront of horological research and beats at an impressive frequency of 5 Hz. It is thinner than most Rolex movements, yet still performs exceptionally well. Behind its performance lies a regulation system consisting of an innovative Dynapulse escapement and a state-of-the-art oscillator.
The first watch to be unveiled is the Land-Dweller 40 in white Rolesor steel (a combination of Oystersteel and white gold). It features a fluted bezel and a deep white dial with a honeycomb pattern. The second watch, the Land-Dweller 36, is crafted in 18K Everose gold. The dial is the same as the previous model, but with ten baguette-cut diamond hour markers and 44 dazzling baguette-cut diamonds around the bezel. The third model, the Land-Dweller 40, is made of 950 platinum and features a fluted bezel and an ice-blue dial – a colour reserved for watches made from this noble metal – also decorated with a honeycomb pattern.
The Land-Dweller dial features a honeycomb pattern, a visually striking motif that has been reinterpreted by Rolex in a subtle relief. Its creation combines traditional craftsmanship with high-tech techniques, all mastered in-house by Rolex. The dials are finished using time-honoured techniques: the deep white dial is finely satin-finished, while the ice-blue dial is sun-brushed. The honeycomb structure is cut using a femtosecond laser, and the grooves between each honeycomb are also etched with delicate lines using a femtosecond laser.
